Alentejo means “beyond the Tagus”, and its people proudly hold a reputation for taking things slowly. Even its traditional singing, recognised by UNESCO, is mellow, matching the endless plains of this amazing region. By the end of the day you will certainly appreciate life like the locals.

We take you through prehistoric sites full of magic, Roman and Moorish heritage, and the medieval maze of streets of Évora, where we visit remarkable monuments and taste delightful dishes.

Alentejo is Portugal’s largest wine region, and its crafts include pottery, tapestry, tiles and cork. All this comes with the region’s wonderful food and sweets – we promise to delight all your senses.

TIP: if you love food and wine, heading inland in the south of Portugal is a must. Please note that July and August are extremely hot.
