In the 1940s, Lisbon lived in a reality parallel to the rest of the world and to the dictatorship that had shaped Portuguese society since the late 1920s. Foreigners made the most of being far from the war and the blackouts and, in the words of Erich Maria Remarque, “pretended life was as it had been”, going to the cinema and the beach. The Portuguese, in turn, took advantage of so many foreigners to soften the conservative regime’s rules in a truly cosmopolitan Lisbon. This is the setting where you will embark on your mission.
How the game works
Through letters and other documents, agents are sent to a series of checkpoints that let them move forward in the game.
By completing tasks and solving clues, teams try to rise to James Bond status. Espionage tests many skills, and only the crème de la crème will graduate from “spy school”.
Why not add team disguises to this hilarious game as your group explores the murky world of spying?
The end result
The game can easily be adapted to your goals. It works well to:
- Develop planning and time management skills
- Promote team building and team bonding
- Offer a fun way to explore the city and a great way to reward your staff
