Porto has long been the centre of the trade in the famous wine that bears its name. The vineyards are a little over an hour’s drive upriver, and the historic cellars have stood for centuries on the south bank, in Gaia. With their British-style décor, the cellars hold seemingly endless rows of fragrant vats and barrels, and beautiful tasting rooms where you will try the different types of Port.
The tour ends with a visit to one of the historic Port wine cellars in Gaia, for a full cellar tour or a tasting of its finest Ports.
